FEATURE: Spring clothing

Yes, it's sprung.

Can you smell it in the air? No, that isn't us, that is the smell of spring! Oh the daffodils, oh the baby chicks, oh the still-pretty-freezing-wether-despite-the-shining-sun... we love it all. As spring has definitely sprung, and as the days get longer and the temperatures (slightly) higher, we take a look at some awesome apparel to don this season.

NEWS: Try the LEGO Mixels Mix Max Murp Challenge

We've created a monster!

Always happy to receive and review some LEGO, the other day a neat little package fell onto our door mat containing three Mixels sets. We've reviewed the micro-sets a couple of times before, in which each polybag holds around 70 small LEGO parts which can be used to build a cheeky little monster: a Mixel. But this package also included a challenge, one we hastily stepped up to meet.

REVIEW: KitSound Sonar Bluetooth Speaker

An 80s disco in your pocket.

KitSound are known for making speakers and headphones in some weird and wonderful shapes (we should know - we've reviewed a tonne of them). But making your music sound great is usually all a speaker can offer... until now. That is because from now on you'll be watching your music as well as listening to it, and it's all down to the Sonar Bluetooth Speaker.

COMPETITION: Win a Kitvision Splash Action Cam

Make a splash!

Last month we reviewed a really excellent video and stills action camera, the Kitvision Splash Cam. We loved it so much we just had to glue it to the underside of quadcopter and take it for a spin, as well as submerging it in water thanks to the cam's included waterproof enclosure. The great news is that we've teamed up with Kitvision to be able to offer one lucky reader the chance to win one!

REVIEW: Archos Virtual Reality Glasses

Virtually brilliant.

VR is making a big come-back, since its last hey-days in the 90s when everyone thought it was 'the next big thing'. Whereas then it was all about chunky headsets and special rings you had to stand in, these days VR is as easy as sticking your phone on your face. Oculus Rift might be hitting the headlines, but your smartphone is just as good, and since Google impressed us all last year with the delightfully lo-tech Cardboard headset, other companies have raced to produce their own sets. And so, we have a go on the Archos Virtual Reality Glasses.

REVIEW: Yale Easy Fit Telecommunicating Alarm

"Hello? You're being burgled."

Big fans of the security experts Yale, we've really enjoyed testing a few of their kits out; from cleverlocks to clever cameras. But Although we feel as safe as houses with their gadgets installed, one thing we've never tried is a full house alarm system - and only because they seem like such a hassle to install. Fortunately Yale have come to the rescue with their aptly named Easy Fit Telecommunicating Alarm.

REVIEW: Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear Headphones

Momentous.

True music fans will never be without a good pair of headphones, no matter where they are or what they're doing. Although in-ear headphones and earbuds wind up nice and tight and are perfect for travelling, nothing beats the sound offered by actual cans you pop on your head. We've found the perfect pair of 'phones which combine awesome sound quality in a tidy package: it's the Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear Headphones.

REVIEW: Vileda Relax Cleaning Robot

Relax… the robots will do it.

More than two years ago the first ever review to appear on The Test Pit was for a robotic vacuum cleaner, the iRobot Roomba 700. Since then, and after sending said robot back, our gaff has gotten into a right state. Seriously, Test Pit Towers is a mess, cluttered with torn packaging, stray LEGO, and those little rotor blades from micro-quadcopters (which are like standing on tiny razor blades). We need a cleaner, but as humans require payment for services rendered, we ain’t getting one anytime soon. Fortunately Vileda have the answer in their Relax Cleaning Robot. We set it to work.

REVIEW: LEGO Marvel Super Heroes: The Hulk Buster Smash

Hulk smash!

We were hoping that our first LEGO set review of 2015 was going to be a good one, and boy are we happy. With the forthcoming release of Avengers: Age of Ultron, LEGO are unleashing a slew of new sets, the most anticipated being this little baby. It's The Hulk Buster Smash!

REVIEW: Roku Streaming Stick

Stream dreams

Here at The Test Pit we're big fans of Roku, the tiny TV box that allows you to stream online media content from the likes of Netflix and YouTube. So far we've reviewed three separate devices from Roku, finding them all to be excellent little telly pals who aided our binge watching addictions. Now we try another, and this time the box is significantly smaller. It's the Roku Streaming Stick.

REVIEW: STM Omni Multi Fit Tablet Case

Omnipotent.

We've covered lots of STM cases and bags in the past, and always really enjoyed doing so. However, the Australian design company tend to favour Apple phones and tablets when it comes to their mobile protective offerings, leaving those of the Android persuasion feeling a little blue. That is until now, thanks to the Omni Multi Fit Tablet Case - a case for just about any slate out there.

REVIEW: Devolo dLAN 1200+ WiFi Powerline Adaptors

WiFi anywhere.

Powerline adaptors, those often overlooked gadgets that use your home's electrical wiring to transfer the internet, are great at getting high speed data to wired devices like smart TVs and game consoles. Unfortunately WiFi enabled devices like phones and tablets tend to miss out on this convenience... until now. We test the Devolo dLAN 1200+ WiFi Powerline Adaptors.

REVIEW: Patriot FUEL iON Magnetic Charging

Give the wire the chop.

Sick of wires? We are. The humble USB is a brilliant thing, but having to use a wire to give your mobile some power while there are people living up in space having physical tools emailed to them, seems a bit prehistoric. If only there was another, less fiddly way to juice up our smartphones. Oh wait, there is... It's Patriot's FUEL iON system.

REVIEW: Tech 21 Patriot iPhone Case

Patriotic to the core.

It can't just be us who thinks this, but put the word 'patriot' on any kind of new tech and it instantly sounds more serious, more severe, less forgiving. We think this is due to America's foreign policy during the past decade (rather than the film with Mel Gibson), so to protect your most valued possession - your iPhone - in a case called Patriot suggests that it will launch drone attacks on civilian villages and unlawfully detain terror suspects in order to keep your phone free from damage. It's the Tech 21 Patriot Case for iPhone 5/5S.

REVIEW: KitSound Pocket Hive Bluetooth Speaker

Hive mind.

Bluetooth speakers seem to be getting smaller and smaller these days, yet the music they knock out is still of fantastic quality. Wanting to see just how small a good speaker can get, we turned to chums of The Test Pit, KitSound, to see what they could do. The answer... the pintsized Pocket Hive Bluetooth Speaker.
