2013 has been a great year for gadgets and toys, not only because it was the year that The Test Pit launched (ahem). Starting way back in February we've been lucky enough to get our greasy mits of some of the hottest new gadgets, technology and toys that 2013 had to offer.

A perfect gadget for this time of year, the Mighty Mug is an insulated carry mug with a leak-proof lid that finally conquers the hot beverage lover's greatest fear: spillage.

Portable DVD players have been around for yonks now and have found a comfortable home strapped to the back of your car seat, entertaining the kids on long journeys.

Let's be clear; when we say Christmas Coffee we don't mean whatever Gingerbread Toffeenut Egg-Nog latte you've bought, served in a red cup, from Starbucks. No, we mean a couple of quality coffee brewing machines and a few choices of the powdery brown stuff to stick in 'em.

Sorry to sound so biased early in the review, but we effing love The House of Marley. We've previoulsy tested another pair from their extensive headphone range, the Positive Vibration set, so we jumped at the chance to try out something else.

As Christmas approaches you’re all probably planning a nice few days tucked up at home in front of the telly. Trouble is (and we mean this for everything except re-runs of You’ve Been Framed) TV is a pile of crap these days. Unless it’s streamed from the internet then quite frankly we don’t want to waste our mulled wine smelling breath. Fortunately we’re all set for the festive period with a brand new Roku.

As the days count down and the first doors of a billion Advent calendars are torn open,  we gather together another selection of Christmas gift ideas. This time round we're focusing of fun things for the wee kiddies.

But it's not just all about the sprogs, because if you or someone you know is anything like us (i.e. grown men with a strange fascination for toys), these would also make the ideal present. Never be ashamed to buy a father of two LEGO; that's the moral of today's feature.
