FEATURE: Spring Clothing 2020

Lockdown chic

With spring fully in the air, we're back to gather up an array of awesome clothing you can clad you gorgeous bodies in this season. If Spring can be something of a mixed bag in terms of weather, we've got your back with a literal mixed bag (and a bag) of apparel for all conditions. Read on, fashionistas...

Mountain Hard Wear Exposure/2 Jacket

Mountain Hard Wear Exposure/2 Jacket

We begin with the outer most layer, and one that is filled with negative thoughts. Yes, there is a good chance it will rain this season, despite the sunny start March gave us to this year's Spring. And so we turn to Mountain Hard Wear, a very appropriately named brand in that they deal with the rugged and rude elements; rain and chill.

Mountain Hard Wear Exposure/2 Jacket

The Exposure/2 (not a typo, BTW) is a perfect pack-it jacket to stow away in your bag... Just In Case. You might not be trekking up many mountains, and despite the jacket being perfectly suitable for that, it'll also see you right on the commute to work or on the jaunt to the shops. Gore-Tex all over, this thing is tough, waterproof, breathable, and has enough pockets and storage to make it more than just a pull-over mac.

Weird Fish Newark Sweatshirt

Weird Fish Newark Sweatshirt

Ah, good old Weird Fish. What they don't sell, ain't worth chatting about. The clothing brand has come up with a another variant on their multipurpose sweatshirt, offering it in a bevvy of colours. The Newark is a 1/4 zip top with a geometric weave to keep you warm on those unexpected chilly Spring days.

Weird Fish Newark Sweatshirt

The choice of tones here is impressive. We opted for the Safari, and damn good it is, too. Comfortable on, soft and stretchy, with Weird Fish's regular tough and robust feel. Other shades include Plum, Washed Black, and the invitingly named Deep Blue Sea. This is, as ever from them, a complete steal at only £45 (although at time of press Weird Fish are pushing a sale, bringing the cost down to a pinch over £30). Worth it, mates.

£45 (£31.50 ATOP)

Oii Wind Jacket

Oii Wind Jacket

This Swedish brand makes funky and fresh clothing for kids, of which the Wind Jacket is no exception. Designed to be the perfect wind breaker on outdoor plays days, the Wind Jacket features pockets, elasticated cuffs, and a removable hood.

But the most eye-catching part has to be the design. Typically Scandinavian by being both minimal and stylish, Oii's jacket for kids comes in a varying sizes up to the age of 12. The brand has a lot of design choices, so do check them out, but our pint-sized tester loved it. The comfortable lined polyester was light, flexible and seemed more than capable of handling the roughest of play dates.

Targus Cypress EcoSmart Backpack

Targus Cypress EcoSmart Backpack

Who doesn't love a new backpack, especially at the start of a new season? Targus' new range of EcoSmart backpacks are unique in that they have been constructed from recycled plastic bottles - in this case, 17 water bottles. The bag is also smart as the design will help keep all your precious cargo safe from cheeky tea-leaves.

Targus Cypress EcoSmart Backpack

With a sturdy design, meaning it looks full even when it isn't, the Crypress can accommodate laptops of up to 15.6" across in the specially padded laptop sleeve. The rest of the 21 litre capacity can be accessed from the main zipper which rests against your back. Coupled with the total absense of external pockets, this means the only way to get anything out is by removing it from your shoulders. Nothing can be reached by pick-pockets. Good. Other internal pockets make this an ideal commuter or overnight bag, so check it out right now.
