NEWS: Elon Musk thinks AI will start WW3

Not to bum you out, but...

Elon Musk, Twitter-savvy uber nerd who is basically Jesus to all tech fans, has warned that a new world war could soon kick off, and that the chubby twat in North Korea won't be to blame. Following a comment from Vladimir Putin about artificial intelligence, in which the Russian president said "Whoever becomes the leader in this sphere will become the ruler of the world.", Musk tweeted "Competition for AI superiority at national level most likely cause of WW3..." Shit.

Elon continued, predicting that war "May be initiated not by the country leaders, but one of the AI's, if it decides that a prepemptive (sic) strike is most probable path to victory." In essence, Musk is worried that a nuclear war could be automatically triggered not by humans, but by the AI systems we have set up to run our military. Furthermore, he said that the global rush to secure such artificially intelligent systems would cause other problems. "Govts don't need to follow normal laws. They will obtain AI developed by companies at gunpoint, if necessary." Double shit.

Although the USA is considered the world-leader in AI development, with both Microsoft and Google coming along leaps and bounds, China could also catch up in the following years, resulting in further competition. Musk has been warning about the rise of AI for years now, and is seeking a total ban on killer robots used in the battlefield. But with Putin's comments, it seems world leaders are also turning their attention toward AI, which is a lot more frightening that anything Donald Trump and King Jong Un could do while comparing penis size.
