COMPETITION: Nextbase In-Car Cam 402G Pro

Cam in the car.

Dash cams are quickly becoming one of those must-have items for all drivers, both to capture footage to back you up in case of any insurance claims, and also to film idiots and bad drivers to upload to YouTube. FAIL ARMY! We took to the road with one such gadget, and are very happy to announce that we have one of the same to giveaway. It's the Nextbase In-Car Cam 402G Pro.

This pint-sized package attaches neatly your windscreen and films whatever is in front of your car. Features include a 2.7 inch LCD screen, full HD recording in 1080p, support for Micro SD cards up to 32GB, a motion sensor, GPS, and a G-sensor to record telemetry. All that, packed in a surprisingly slim body that takes advantage of the screen's width. So yeah, looks good.

Like all dash cams, the perfect place to mount it is behind your rear view mirror. The Nextbase In-Car Cam includes a suction-cup mount that... wait for it... actually sticks! We know, pretty surprising, right? Once on, it doesn't seem to want to budge, until you need it to that is. We've had ours mounted for nearly a fortnight now, and never once have we thought it might suddenly drop off mid drive.

In terms of use, it really is a forget-about-it bit of kit, which all dash cams should be, but often aren't. The In-Car Cam 402G Pro will automatically begin recording your journey as soon as you turn on the engine (which it does by default - you don't need to set it up to do this), with recorded footage set to over-record previous footage, once your Micro SD card is full. That way, the only thing you have to think about is how charged the unit's battery is - and if there is a problem there, the camera will alert you that it needs to be plugged in. And yep, a car power cable is included (as is a USB).

The footage it is capable of capturing is surprisingly great. Although it does boast 1080p, not all cameras of this type can grab good quality video. Thanks to the Nextbase In-car Cam's 6G sharp glass lens and 140 degree viewing angle, the footage is both sharp and smooth - very important if you plan to use it to protect yourself legally.

This is an excellent bit of kit that every driver should own. Fancy winning one? See below...
