REVIEW: Wiser Multi-Room Smart Heating Kit

We recently installed the Wiser Multi-room Kit in our home, and after a few weeks of living with it, we feel confident sharing our experience. Our goal was to gain more control over our heating and hopefully save some money on energy bills. This kit, which includes a 1-channel Heat HubR, a room thermostat, and two smart radiator thermostats, seemed like a great starting point—and overall, it’s been a smart move.

First off, installation was surprisingly simple. The Heat HubR slotted right onto our existing boiler's wallplate, and we followed the step-by-step instructions in the Wiser Heat app. Within an hour or so, we had the core system up and running. Pairing the devices was quick—just a matter of pressing a button and waiting for a little green light. Even for people who aren't especially tech-savvy, it's manageable.

The real magic started when we began zoning our home. We put one smart radiator thermostat in the baby’s room and one in the living room—our two most-used spaces. The room thermostat went in the hallway to act as a central monitor. Now, instead of heating the whole house all day, we only heat the rooms we actually use. For example, in the evenings, the living room stays toasty while the rest of the house drops to a lower, energy-saving temperature. That kind of targeted control is a game-changer.

The Wiser Heat app is really intuitive. We’ve set custom schedules for each room, and if our plans change, adjusting things on the go is as easy as opening the app. There's also an “Away Mode,” which lowers all temperatures if we're out for the day—something we've already used more than once. It even gives us weekly reports and suggestions to optimize heating.

Another big plus: it works with Alexa. We’ve gotten into the habit of saying, “Alexa, turn up the heating in the living room,” and it just works. It feels like living in the future—minus the robots.

That said, it hasn’t been perfect. We did have a hiccup with one of the radiator thermostats dropping its connection early on, but repositioning our Wi-Fi router helped. We also noticed that the thermostats are a little bulky compared to regular TRVs—but that’s a trade-off for smart control.

Wiser’s customer support deserves a shoutout too. When we had a question about scheduling, their online help chat got back to us quickly with a clear, friendly answer.

Overall, the Wiser Multi-room Kit has made a real difference to how we heat our home. It’s saving us money, making our routines more comfortable, and giving us the control we didn’t realize we were missing. We’re already looking at adding more smart radiator valves to expand our zones. If you're tired of heating empty rooms and want something that just works without hassle, Wiser is worth a serious look.
