REVIEW: HP SmartTank 5105 Printer

We've got some thoughts to share about the HP SmartTank 5105 printer! Now, we're no printer experts (what with printers becoming increasingly unnecessary), but we've had our hands on this bad boy for a while, and here's what we think.

First off, let's talk setup. If you're anything like us and have a history of wrestling with printers, you'll be pleasantly surprised. The setup was a breeze! The instructions were clear, and we didn't need degrees in rocket science to get things up and running.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the ink system. This printer boasts these nifty transparent ink tanks that you can actually see the ink levels in. Say goodbye to those annoying moments when your printer runs out of ink right in the middle of printing that crucial document. You can easily keep an eye on the ink levels and refill when needed. It's like the printer has developed a sixth sense for when we're about to run out of ink.

Print quality? Well, color us impressed! Whether we're printing out text-heavy documents or vibrant photos, the SmartTank 5105 delivers. The text is crisp, and the colors in photos pop just the way they should. It's not going to give those high-end photo printers a run for their money, but for everyday use, it's more than adequate.

Now, let's address the elephant in the room: the size. This printer isn't exactly compact. It's got a bit of heft to it, so if you're tight on space, you might need to do some rearranging. But hey, it's a small price to pay for those sweet, sweet ink tanks.

One thing that's worth mentioning is the wireless capability. Connecting our devices to this printer was a breeze. We could print stuff directly from our phones without having to perform any crazy tech rituals.

But it's not all rainbows and sunshine. There have been a couple of instances where the printer was a bit finicky about the paper we were using, causing some minor paper jams. Nothing a little patience and gentle persuasion couldn't fix, but it's still worth noting.

In the grand scheme of things, the HP SmartTank 5105 is like that reliable friend you can count on. It might not have all the flashy bells and whistles of some high-end models, but it gets the job done without much fuss. If you're tired of the ink cartridge dance and want a printer that's easy on the wallet in the long run, this could be your go-to option. Just make sure you've got the space to accommodate its not-so-petite frame!
