NEWS: Huawei P20 gives good camera

Three-eyed monster

Announced recently was Huawei's next flagship phone, the P20 and P20 Pro. We're fans of Huawei here at TTP, having reviewed two of their phones this year alone, the P10 and the Mate 10 Pro, so we were keen to hear about this new one. As expected, the headlines are all about the camera, and boy did Huawei not disappoint.

For a start, the P20 Pro boasts four cameras, three on the rear and an impressive-sounding 24MP selfie cam. Meanwhile, those three other shooters include a damn 40MP sensor, a 20MP black and white sensor, and also a 8MP telephoto lens. The images from all three cameras can be combined with AI to create rich, detail-packed photographs, according to Huawei.

Despite that notch, which we think is bloody awful (as it was on the iPhone X), the rest of the handset looks nice, and we expect similar high-powered internals that we got with the Mate 10 Pro. Huawei continue to makes leaps and bounds in the smartphone world, and it seems like they have to up their game every time to compete with the likes of Samsung and Apple. Nice to see some true innovation every once in a a while.

The Huawei P20 and P20 Pro will be available for around £788 soon.
