NEWS: Visvo Novel is a super high-tech backpack

Walking power station

A lot of modern bags and backpacks make allowances for portable chargers and battery packs. We should know; we effing love reviewing bags, including this recent video review of the Thule Subterra Carry-On 40L, which also had a pouch for a battery. If your mobile power needs are high, we've found just the Kickstarter project for you: the Visvo Novel range of bags.

Based in Germany, Visvo already make bags and backpacks with built-in in battery packs which allow you to charge your phone on the go. The Novel range, however, take that notion up to the next level, with some bags in the range containing three separate batteries for different tasks. As well as juicing up your mobile gadgets, the power can be used to illuminate safety lights on the front and back - great for cyclists - and also a Qi wireless charging pad, so you don't even have to plug your phone in.

One interesting feature of the bags, which at time of writing had achieved around 15% of their goal, are small magnetic plates on the shoulder straps. The point of these is to attract and catch falling earbud headphones - which basically means they are a safety net if you own Apple's AirPods, headphones that are notorious for falling out randomly.

If all that sounds good (it certainly looks good to us) you can back the project with a starting pledge of €249, at www.kickstarter.com
