Genius.
There are lots of
dating apps out there; some pretty respectable, others bat-shit crazy
mental. However, using one could be somewhat demoralising as you
become just a another face in the crowd. How you make yourself stand
out to increase your chances of meeting a potential romantic partner?
Easy, you build your own app where you are the only man.
That is just what Shed
Simove from London did, creating the app Shinder. Shinder works just
like other dating apps, inviting people to sign up and select a
possible mate by swiping right on other people's profile pictures.
However, in the case of Shinder, the only male member is Shed
himself. As he told The Mirror, “‘I joined all the usual [dating
apps]. I quickly realised that it’s tough to stand out and get
noticed with seemingly endless choice. I’ve anticipated the
scarcity of potential matches will create increased demand, and with
that more chance of dating successes. I’m now a big fish in my own
pond.”
Fair play, to be
honest. And if you think it is just a bit of a novelty that no woman
would sign herself up to, at time of reporting Shed had over 100
dating requests.
