Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's a drone that flies just like a bird while also like a plane, kinda. Bionic Bird is a radio controlled drone that mimics the movements of bird wings to stay aloft, steering with the rudder-like tail. The motion is so natural that even real birds can't tell the difference.
Controlled via a smartphone app, Bionic Bird seems like a lot of fun, although the frame is far too light to carry anything like a camera. We suppose it could be fun if you fancy a quick fly around the local park, or indeed if you are actively trying to confuse real birds. Which is something we assume you do a lot.
