NEWS: LEGO Ideas Large Hadron Collider reaches target

The project has been (particle) accelerated.

Having sat on the LEGO Ideas website for over a year now, the proposed model of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) has surpassed the required 10,000 votes and has been moved to the review phase. This means that, beginning in September, LEGO will consider whether or not to put the model into production, making it available to buy sometime next year.

What makes this project interesting is that it was designed by someone who actually works at the LHC in Geneva, PhD student Nathan Readoiff of the University of Liverpool. In fact, he had so much support from his colleagues at the Collider that they even made a parody video to promote the project.

Follow the progress of the review stage, and hopefully soon we'll all be able to have our own little particle accelerators on our desks. Visit ideas.lego.com
