It's about God damn time, Nike!
According to the documentary Back to the Future 2, by 2015 we should all have been wearing shoes that tied their own laces. Although we've been promised such shoe innovation since the 1980s, Nike have finally got there... albeit a year late. The HyperAdapt 1.0 lacing system, set for release later this year, will fasten your shoe laces for you, tightening around your foot perfectly. Apparently.
The thing that really strikes us about the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 is how much they light up. From the dots on the rear of the trainer, to the glowing block on the sole which we assume is the mechanical section to pull the laces taught, it seems that one day soon we'll all have to charge our shoes each night, as well as our phones.
Initially the shoes will only be available to Nike+ members, so to find out more, visit http://www.nike.com/gb/en_gb/c/innovation
