NEWS: The Light Phone lets you leave your smartphone at home

Travel Light.

As you might have guessed, we're very pro smartphone here at The Test Pit. However, even we can appreciate that you don't always need to carry around that highly expensive slab of glass everywhere you go. After all, you don't need to suddenly watch Netflix during a night out... but you might need to make a simple voice call. That is where The Light Phone could help.

Following a successful Kickstarter campaign, the device is now available to pre-order in the US, and is designed to offer only one function: voice calls. However, unlike a stand-alone small dumb-phone (like the newly re-released Nokia 3310), The Light Phone comes with a SIM card that is set up to forward calls to and from your actual smartphone. That way you only have one number and never miss a call.

The device features a three day battery life and charging via Micro USB. And that's it. No email, no texts, no apps, no media... it simply rings when you're getting a call, and lets you call when you need to. Oh, and it will fit in your wallet. Bonus.
