Stand well back!
Tesla coils, those amazing towers of energy that seem to shoot electricity in all directions, are pretty cool. So imagine putting one on your back and directing the electricity with a hand-held gun. Now you're in a mental sci-fi computer game. And also here in the real world.
An experiment by Cameron Prince, the Tesla coil gun was recently covered by Smarter Every Day. It's basically the coolest - potentially most dangerous - cosplay prop ever:
The most striking thing here is seeing the electricity travelling at 28,000 frames per second, making it look like a window cracking. We're pretty sure this won't be available to buy anytime soon (imagine the review we'd give it!) but this is still an incredible achievement.
