Amazon,
eBay, Gumtree... are those the sites you visit to buy and sell your
stuff? If you've ever been given a gift card for a store you simply
aren't going to shop at, what do you do? Sell it on eBay and you risk
making a huge loss as some cheeky sniper bags it for 99p at the last
minute? You should sell it on Zeek, a great website that we've been
taking a look at.
Zeek (www.zeek.me) is an online marketplace for gift cards and e-vouchers. If you have something you want to sell, you can do so and get a good chunk of the voucher's worth. While if you want to buy a voucher, you're going to get a lot more than what you pay for.
Doesn't make sense? Well, to try the service out Zeek kindly gave us £50 to play with. You simply download the app (iOS and Android), create an account, and start shopping. You can search for the stores you're after (so if you want an Amazon voucher, search for that), or indeed set a limit for how much you want to spend. We then found something from Amazon within our budget – a £50 e-voucher - and bought it, retaining a chunk of our allowance in doing so. So that was a £50 voucher that didn't cost us £50. The discount code downloaded to our phone, and we were ready to use it on the Amazon.co.uk site.
We also shopped around a little further and found such bargains as a £100 gift card at Marks & Spencer for just £90, and a £50 Starbucks voucher for only £36. Shop around, keep coming back, and you could walk away with a huge saving. The app also works very quickly, is easy to navigate, and uploading your payment details and address (in case the voucher is a real-world physical thing) is simple.
If you need to buy something big from the likes of Amazon, Argos, or Tesco, try Zeek first. There is a very good chance that you'll make a huge saving by first buying a discounted voucher, so it is definitely worth downloading the app.
