REVIEW: Philips Hue

Nice to meet Hue.

For the past century or so, humankind has enjoyed the knowledge that come night-time all they need do to light their way is flick a switch on the wall. But now it seems that even the humble and erstwhile light bulb has had its day and become... well, soooo last century. These days it seems that as a people we are no longer satisfied by the gentle orange glow of our lights, and instead prefer a rich red. Or soothing blue. Or mellow yellow. Or anything in between for that matter. We blame tech giant Philips and their new LED lighting system, Hue.

VIDEO REVIEW: LEGO Star Wars AT-TE #75019

Walk our way.

Still with the sores from a heavy brick building session on our hands, we whipped out the camera to film a video review. If you like your LEGO tank-like and leggy, you're in luck with the Star Wars AT-TE.

REVIEW: Kingston MobileLite Wireless Reader

All about give and take.

If you are anything like us, you'll have your entire life in your pocket. From photos and videos, to saved documents, email attachments and important contacts, its easy to take our smartphones for granted.

But (and this is a big but) what if you lost that precious slab of silicon and glass? How many memories would you lose? It's the reason that we both love and desperately need a gadget like this, to safely and conveniently back up everything that is important to us: the Kingston MobileLite Wireless Reader.

FEATURE: Christmas Stocking Fillers - Toys

Buy and be merry.

In our recent review of the Nerf Mega Centurion blaster we wondered how the kiddies would cope which such a big toy. And so, ever eager to cater to all ages (and to play with toys whenever possible) we set out to find some great products for the wee ones just in time for Christmas.

Parents, stick this page under their snotty little noses and get your credit card ready.

REVIEW: Nerf Mega Centurion

Hail Caesar!

We're building up a pretty good stock of Nerf blaster reviews now, and with the exception of the Jolt they seem to be getting bigger and bigger. We fear we might have maxed out on size with our latest product test however, as the Nerf Mega Centurion is the the company's largest blaster to date and boasts the longest range. For the good of the general populace (and because we love shooting rubber tipped darts at one another at point blank range) we got to grips with the new super gun to see what all the fuss is about.

REVIEW: Wikipad

Bachelor pad.

Aside from the latest version of Angry Birds here at The Test Pit we tend not to play all that many games on our Android devices. Don't get us wrong, there are plenty of great titles out there and available in the Google Play store, it's just tying to shoot your mates in a deathmatch doesn't feel right using a touchscreen.

REVIEW: Withings Pulse

Heart of the matter.

A few months back we reviewed a rather special set of scales from fitness tracking company Withings, the Smart Body Analyzer. Although we really liked the scales we found it quite difficult to go jogging with it strapped to our wrists. Lol. Fortunately Withings now cater for the customer on the move in the form of the Pulse.

REVIEW: LEGO Star Wars Brickmaster Book

Master the brick.

As you may have noticed, we're big LEGO fans here at t'Pit. That's why we were especially excited to get our hands on the latest in the Brickmaster book series: Battle for the Stolen Crystals, courtesy of yellowmoon.org.uk.

An adventure romp set in the Star Wars universe, the book includes a bag of 189 LEGO bricks and two minifigures which allow the plucky reader to build the things that occur in the story. Although aimed at the younger end of the LEGO Star Wars audience, it didn't stop us from getting all giddy and tearing through those pages like crazy people.
